Halter House – Museum and Resource Centre

The Maryhill Historical Society’s museum and resource centre has been newly organized and renovated in 2021.  It is located in the Edward Halter House in Maryhill across from the Church and  includes three floors of artifacts. On the main floor is an old fashioned kitchen and chapel display. Upstairs there is a turn-of-the-century bedroom and a resource room which houses an assortment of displays including a Veterans display and tribute, old school textbooks and photos, traditional Alsatian clothing and more.  The basement contains farm displays and maps. Our library, located in the kitchen includes a large collection of family histories, census returns for Waterloo Township, records from St. Boniface Church, naturalization records, land records, church histories.

Halter House Resource Centre  is open in the summer on Sundays in June, July and August from 1pm  to 4pm. At other times the resource centre is open by appointment.
